Costume time is creeping up on us. I've had an idea of what my costume is for awhile now but if that weren't the case, I would be turning to one of these ideas for inspiration! Or perhaps one from the post I did a couple years ago 15 Halloween Costume Ideas.
For all you desert loving gals, why not channel the flora of the landscape? These cacti costumes are so good, especially the cactus bikini. What I would really love to see though, is a desert bloom costume. How beautiful would that be!?
2. Alien Robot (Think Metropolis)
1920s Germany was filled with so much inspiration artistically speaking. Triadisches Ballett for example, had the most amazing costumes of it's day, and nearly 100 years later, I still find them inspirational. I digress...How about making your own version of an Alien Robot in the style of the 1927 German film Metropolis?
3. Atomic Gal
I love this idea because there are so many interpretations of what atomic is. You could go martian, space-themed, cosmonaut, the list goes on!
Pretty classic in the realm of Halloween costumes is the vampira. Manila Nurmi from the 1950s TV show The Vampira Show is a perfect example! Take a look at this original show intro from 1954 but before, her waist is shockingly (and alarmingly) tiny.
5. Queen of Spades
A deck of cards, the queen of spades, the queen of hearts...Whatever ever your pleasure, you could take this costume in so many directions as woman have done throughout the decades.
6. Ballerina Russe
If you're going for an elegant costume, look no further and behold the Russian ballerina, perhaps the epitome all ballerinas. A pretty good excuse to twirl around all night, although you don't need an excuse to do that in my book!
The cowgirl, a fairly simple yet super fun idea! From rugged 1920s-style cowgirl to the 1950s cowgirl of pinup fame, you could do this costume a number of different ways depending on your own style.
8. Drink of Choice
These just made me laugh. I loved the gin and port bottles pinup photos and in my search for more alcoholic beverage themed costumes, found this gal dressed up as a bottle of champagne in the 1900s!
Insight or perhaps Big Brother choose your own interpretation for what an eyeball costume represents...
