As with many folks I'm sure, my love of photography began while flipping through old issues of National Geographic in my parent's closet and those stacked on the shelves at my grandmother's house. Admiring the photos and pulling the graphic posters and illustrations they used to always include for my walls, rarely did I stop to actually read the articles. Only skimming the captions for more details on the images I saw. Outside stories stories from my parents, grandmother and great grandmother's travels, perusing these magazines was my number one inspiration for exploring the world once I was of age to do so by myself. It struck a chord of wanderlust deep within that I've never been able to shake.
Never do I tire when I see photos (even new) from the society. And when I come across old photos that I've never seen, it's truly a treat. Today I stumbled across the tumblr blog Found, a collection of photographs curated by photography editor Janna Dotschkal. Below are a few of my favorite photos, all from the 1920s.
