On a buying trip for the shop a few months ago, I came across a darling 1970's floral maxi dress. It was totally my style and by happenstance was just my size! Naturally, I decided to keep it for myself. The woman who sold it to my had bought it for her high school prom in 1978 and held on to it all these years. Then after recently cleaning out her closet, she decided the time had come to sell it. Lucky for me, I just happened to be there when that time came and the dress was transferred from her closet to mine!
She had promised photos of herself if I sent her a few of me in the dress. Well, last week she delivered! She sent me several photos of her in the dress and I have to say, it's moments like those that I love most about owning a vintage shop. I may ask her for permission to post her prom photos, I haven't decided yet. The undeniable truth is that they're pretty amazing. I hate to tease you that, but seriously...red velvet upholstery and red shag carpet. I'll leave leave you with that. Oh and considering that I'm obsessed with maxi dresses this summer, I've been adding longer dresses to the shop lately. Go take a look if you did that style too!
