I'm happy to report the shop is back up and running. Saturday I was able to take a few photos and get about four pieces up. It's going to be a slow and steady process getting things back in order but I couldn't be more excited to get back into the swing of things.
About a month ago, I met up with my mom for dinner and she was so excited for the surprise she had waiting for me in the car. After a game of 20 questions with her and my aunt, I still couldn't figure out what it could be.
Fast forward to after dinner and she pulls out this gorgeous Marie Rose Reid maillot swimsuit from the 1950s. Midnight black. Simple design. Basically the classic beauty I'd been on the hunt for for quite a while. Come to think about it, it's reminiscent of what I'd had in my head back in 2009. There was just a small problem. Size. Tragically it was too big for me! Aha, this was the reasoning behind her evasive answer. Bad news for me. Good news for some lucky gal out there.
You guessed it. It's gone up in the shop. The photos don't do it justice. I'm still working on that part. But in the meantime I found these deco style adverts for Marie Rose Reid swimwear. Dreamy aren't they? It's no wonder her designs were coveted by Hollywood starlets such as Marilyn Monroe and the like.
