One Overcast Afternoon

It's been years since I've picked up a camera and shot for fun. I used to do it all the time for the shop when it was a hobby, but about five years ago I stopped. When I took the shop full time, that aspect of Dalena Vintage was put on the back burner and never really reappeared.

There are a number of reasons why this happened, most of which are good! For example, I get to work with so many amazing photographers that shooting on my own has kind of become unnecessary. I'm also still my only employee and because there is a lot to do (maybe a slight understatement) I flat out don't have time for it.

Lately though, I've been missing it so I asked a new friend if she would be interested in getting out with me. Like me, she loves a good day trip, exploring, photography and, of course, vintage clothing so I was thrilled when she said yes. The only stipulation being that I get in front of the camera for her too which I happily agreed to as I'm a fan of her photography.

So last Sunday I picked her up and we headed just out of town with a car filled with vintage, a few random items and our cameras. Here are a few of what I took! It's going to take me a while to get back into the swing of things but I'm happy to be on the road back. Stay tuned over the next few days as I share the other three sets!
