Although best known for her collaborations with French designer Yves Saint Laurent, Loulou de la Falaise's eccentric bohemian style speaks volumes in and of itself. Her self-styled outfits were unlike anything else being worn in Paris in the '70s, and ranged from 18th century Indian-inspired wedding attire to bohemian Russian peasant looks. She was often flanked by paparazzi, and her approach to fashion was mimicked within her social circles and beyond.

While many describe Loulou de la Falaise as Saint Laurent's muse, her take is quite different. A muse, she states, has more of a passive quality, and in her eyes the hard work and dedication she put into the house was deserving of much more than that label.

De la Falaise's celebrated style can be seen in the book Loulou de la Falaise, a collection of photos curated by Ariel de Ravenel and Natasha Fraser-Cavassoni.
