I've been on somewhat of an Edwardian kick for the past few days. Yesterday I listed one of the most beautiful Edwardian wedding gowns I've ever had in the shop, and today a photo of my great grandmother on her wedding day in 1912 was featured on Save Family Photos. So yes, this is currently where my head's at. Edwardian or bust!
I've always had an affinity for Edwardian clothing, wedding dresses and lawn dresses in particular. There's something about that ultra soft, semi-sheer batiste that just whispers romance. So beautiful and feminine yet easy to wear and move around in. One of my favorite things about the fashion from this era, however, is the utilitarian beauty of each piece. The intricate and often hand-crafted detailing most definitely catches the eye, but the pieces are also so structurally sound that many of them have withstood the test of time and still exist in amazing condition a hundred years later. They get me every time!
Here are my top 10 favorite Edwardian wedding dresses currently for sale on the good old Internet. Call me biased, but yes, I did feature one from Dalena Vintage!
