The Painted Churches of Texas

With their plain white exteriors, the painted churches of Texas are unsuspecting beauties. A quick walk inside and you'll find European style interiors with tall gothic windows and elaborate paintings created by the German and Czech settlers who came to Texas in the 1800's. Most are located just a few ours outside of Austin, making them great day trip destinations. I've explored a few but have several more to go!
